What it is: Ural is and effervescent powder used to treat urinary tract infections such as cystitis. Ingredients include sodium bicarbonate, tartaric acid, citric acid anhydrous, sodium citrate anhydrous and saccharin. The powder comes in small sachets that can be mixed into a glass of water and drunk to relieve the burning and stinging pain associated with UTIs.

How it tastes: Ural (Original flavor) has a strong taste akin to plain carbonated water with a hint of sour citrus taste. Although some people don’t mind the taste, most people wouldn’t choose to drink this regularly and instead gulp it down.

Tips: Ural only relieves the pain, it doesn’t fix the UTI. The best thing to do is drink lots of water, take probiotics and cranberry. If you experience ongoing or severe pain, or blood in the urine, you need to see a doctor to get a prescription for antibiotics.
